One of the outcome of the P.R.I.S.C.I.L.L.A project is the development of a learning program designed to equip young people with intellectual disabilities with the skills and awareness needed to balance the necessity of protection from harm with the benefits of opportunities provided by social media and ICT, particularly in terms of social interaction and the development of romantic and/or sexual relationships. Ultimately, the educational program aims to promote positive risk-taking, self-determination, and a sense of control and independence among young people with intellectual disabilities.
Designed for youth disability workers, this initiative aims to develop their competence and expertise to replicate the educational program and acquire the necessary knowledge to provide targeted support in cases where abuse is suspected or occurs.

The Training Programme is a blended course designed to enhance the skills of youth workers, enabling them to effectively guide and counsel their clients in balancing the risks and benefits of using ICT tools. This initiative will elevate the quality of youth work by fostering a more skilled and conscious workforce. Additionally, the program will equip participants with the knowledge to understand the risks and opportunities associated with social media use by young people with intellectual disabilities, particularly in the context of developing interpersonal and sexual relationships. It will provide the competence to recognize indicators of digital sexual harassment and respond appropriately. Furthermore, youth disability workers will be empowered to support their clients in positive risk-taking related to social media use and replicate the educational program effectively.
A series of materials and resources designed to raise awareness about the risks and benefits of ICT for individuals with intellectual disabilities, targeted at informal carers, professionals, stakeholders, and the general public.
The digital awareness campaign aims to develop and disseminate materials and resources targeting four distinct groups:
– Parents and Informal Carers: Provide information and useful strategies to help ensure their care recipients use social media autonomously and safely.
– Professionals: This includes youth workers in the disability field, educators, social care workers, those supporting informal carers, organizations focused on improving youth worker training, and promoting internet safety, as well as researchers. The goal is to inform and involve them in the cyber dimensions of sexuality and guide them on how to approach and intervene in situations of risk and sexual abuse.
– Stakeholders: Policy and decision-makers at regional, national, and European levels, to educate them about internet safety, abuse prevention, inclusion, and equal opportunities for people with disabilities, as well as education and training.
– General Public: Including youth with and without intellectual disabilities, to raise their awareness on internet safety, social and romantic interactions online, and how to respond in cases of abuse.
